WEEKLY SUMMARY POTENTIALLY SEVERE WEATHER OVER
THE PERIOD-Thundery rain giving risk of localised flooding Monday & Thursday in the extreme east and SE
JULY WEEK 3 looks like staying rather unsettled for most parts during the week with low pressure areas often dominating
to the west and NW, though a bit more settled overall in the south and east, as weak areas of high pressure develop here at
times bringing a few fine warmer days, despite some early mist & low cloud. However fronts will likely push into all parts
at times but tend to fizzle out as they do so in the east. Northern and western parts will see a S-SW’ly flow overall,
strong at times but the low pressures responsible should stay mainly to the west of Ireland & NW Scotland overall. The
weekend looks like being mainly dry and fine in the south and east and quite warm here too but rather cloudier elsewhere especially
in the west & north west, with some showery rain at times, in a cooler W-SW’ly flow, with soil temperatures near average for most parts, with soil moisture rather
below average for most areas
Rain amounts- Generally showery rain about esp in the NW, SW and Wales which
will slowly mount up. Heavier thundery showers or rain may effect especially the SE and east on Monday and another
pulse may affect the SE & east Anglia on Thursday too. For rainfall totals for next 6 days -from the day you look- in mm see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rmgfs144sum.gif
Field and planting information - locally poor visibilities an issue at times early on in eastern and central areas at night ,
the west also seeing low cloud and fog as an issue. The dry ground remaining the main issue though for many giving some planting
issues for crops .. and the threat of low yields increasing further for certain crops already planted due to the lack of rainfall,
though this effect does seems quite patchy. Not all areas are affected by any means though and the wetter weather from the
west this week will help.
